My family has been in the moving-and-storage business on the East Side of St. Paul for as long as I can remember, and I took over Fisher Transfer in 2010 with one simple goal: keep doing it the old-school way, where the person who answers the phone actually cares how your day goes. I grew up riding along on jobs as a kid, and moving day was always stressful for the families we helped — I knew it never had to be.
I ran the warehouse and the crews here for over a decade before taking the company over, so I have seen the other side of the business up close — families hit with surprise fees they were never quoted, furniture showing up scratched, and crews that vanish the moment the truck pulls away. Around here a move also means real Minnesota winters: sub-zero mornings, icy walks, and snow that does not wait for moving day. I knew our family could do it better, the way my father always did.
